I am very excited to begin a new year of learning with your child.
This week your child will be learning the daily routines. They will have the opportunity to explore their new classrooms and meet new friends. The focus will be getting to know each other through name games and discussions. We will start using our class calendar on the first day of school. Books are a big part of children learning to read and will be a big part of our program. This week we will read books such as “What I Like About Me” by Allia Zobel Nolan and “If You Take a Mouse to School” by Laura Numeroff. Art and language activities will be done in the classroom to support these books. Every Friday there will be a Special Snack. Each family will have the opportunity to bring in a snack for the class. Please see the Snack List for more details. There will not be homework given this week.
